Tips for Success

  • Lead by example and make the first donation to get your team started. Make it even more interesting by pledging to your friends and family that you’ll match the donations made to your team, or maybe make an additional donation when a friend or colleague signs up to bowl.
  • Ask friends, family and colleagues for donations by using the templates Home Start Hope created as examples to get started. Reach out to your network through email, text and social media. Make it personal, tell people why you love Home Start Hope, and watch the donations roll in!

Recruit people to join your team or start their own team:

  • Every bowler or team that registers is an opportunity to raise even more money for Home Start Hope.
  • We’ll send you a signature Home Start Hope t-shirt for any team that registers due to your efforts. Just make sure they let us know when they register – there’s a field to add the name of the person who referred them.

Post, post, post:

  • Post on social media using #BowlforHope as often as you can. Aim to post something at least 3 times per week.
  • Pick a day during the week to highlight your involvement with Bowl for Hope and have your teammates share it. People love photos – share a pic of you and your team.
  • Tag your besties, your colleagues, heck even your grandma and challenge them to make a donation.

Get your office involved:

  • Create mini competitions within your office. Set some funny stakes, a pie in the face for instance, see which branch/department can outraise the other.
  • Have a Dress Down Day, Hat Day or Bills Fan Day, etc. with $5 for everyone who wants to participate. Collect the money and enter it as a donation for your team. Take photos and post on social media!
  • Get your customers/clients/patients involved. Put out a tip jar, ask customers to round-up their purchases, ask for donations. Make it fun! People love to know you’re committed to giving back to the community, take pride in sharing your involvement.
  • Use your company’s gift matching program, or ask if you can get one started. If your company does have a match, make sure you know how it works to not only get your gift matched but those of your colleagues as well.

We’d love to hear your great ideas for fundraising! We can share them with everyone. When all are successful, ALL are successful!
